Lee Neubecker Discusses Recent Security Breaches on First Business Network
CHICAGO: June 14th, 2011
First
Business, a daily program on WCIU-TV that provides highlights on the
latest business and financial news, aired a segment called "Is Your Info
Safe?" tackling the recent outbreak of security breaches related to
financial information.
When asked if companies are doing enough to safeguard their customer's
credit card and debit card information, Lee Neubecker, President and CEO of Forensicon, a computer
forensics company in Chicago, replied that "there is certainly much more
that can be done to protect information. It's very difficult to have
perfect security," however he went on to add, "most people would like to know if their
information has been compromised."
What to do if you believe your information is compromised:
-
Immediately notify your financial institutions. Report any unknown transactions.
-
Change your PIN number and passwords associated with the account.
-
Request a new account number and card.
-
Monitor your credit report and report any unknown activity immediately.
